Build-A-Bear founder Maxine Clark has spearheaded and helped fund a new endeavor for St. Louis parents. It’s a free app called Blueprint4SummerSTL, which provides mobile access to summer camps and events in the St. Louis area so parents can more easily plan summer activities for their kids.
Blueprint4SummerSTL currently has more than 1,000 summer sessions listed in the database, which continues to grow. Summer programs include day camps and sleep-away camps and range in subject area from sports to science to art to cooking. Parents can search sessions based on any number of preferences such as age, gender, interests, price and zip code.
The app also allows parents to get links to the programs’ websites to learn camp locations via Google maps, how to apply, if they offer before and after care, and if scholarships are available. “The tool truly is a blueprint that parents can use to build an enriching summer for kids and a less stressful planning cycle for themselves,” said Clark in a statement.
